I think the better question is, where can I NOT reduce clutter in my life? Everything is cluttered. I like to think of it as an “organized mess.” I know where everything is — I just have too much stuff and too little space. One of my many goals this year is not to buy anything unless I absolutely “need” it. I also need to go through what I have and ask, “Do I need this?” For example, I still have my prom dress (maybe even 2 prom dresses) from 20 years ago. Do I need this?? The Nook I haven’t touched in a decade? Do I need this? Etc.
Item by item, the clutter will hopefully dissipate. Now I just need to convince my family to do the same with their possessions!
For those of you who are also thinking about decluttering and/or minimizing the consumer urge to buy everything in sight, I would recommend the book: The Year of Less by Cait Flanders.
